Chris Furlong runs-for-funds fundraising challenge

Middleton councillor Chris Furlong is running 3 marathons in 3 countries for 3 local charities in just 3 months – outstanding.

Chris  brought the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, down to the Lighthouse Project and Middleton Central foodbank early in March, to show him around, to tell him about our work and to build up support for the three marathons that he will be running over the next few months to raise funds for charities close to his heart, one of which is our Middleton Central foodbank.

Andy thought that the facilities and the work of the Lighthouse Project and the foodbank are brilliant, and having formerly worked as a reporter in Middleton he is especially supportive of community led initiatives.
