Inspire Middleton projects and activities
With the growing concern about the impact of coronavirus within the community, and in the light of recent government health advice regarding social distancing (16 March 2020) we want to make you aware that this is having an impact upon the services and activities that Inspire Middleton offers through its various projects, including the Lighthouse Project, Middleton Central Foodbank, Lighthouse Pantry etc.
We are listening to advice and taking necessary precautions, and where appropriate we are making adjustments to the way that some of our services are offered. For some of our activities this includes postponing activities for a short period of time where vulnerable visitors would be present, and for others, like the foodbank, it means changing how we operate. Please keep an eye on our regular news feeds or call the Lighthouse Project for updates before you attend – 0161 643 1163.
Our challenge is that our work is all about helping people who are facing crisis or difficulties, and the current health situation is adding difficulty to many people’s lives. We are trying to steer the line between keeping people safe (including our volunteers) and maintaining as much support for people as we are practically able to do.
Many of our volunteer team are in the age bracket that is being told to stay at home which means our workforce is dwindling so please be patient with us if somethings take a little more time to complete, or if we have had to reduce what we can offer during this national crisis.
The situation concerning the health advice that is being circulated to us all is changing from day-to-day so during this season our response will also be subject to change. We are here to support where we can, and protect where we can, and hopefully we will get the balance right.
The Lighthouse Project partners with many external organisations who offer their services in our space, several of these have temporarily suspended their sessions and we have added these changes to our events diary. If you are unsure please call in advance.
